Poe heist

Poe heist DEFAULT

Path of Exile has become one of my favorite games over the years. It’s one of those rare experiences that offers anything I want at any given point. Do I want to freak out over numbers and stats? PoE’s massive skill tree and item customization has more depth than I could ever fully comprehend. Am I in the mood to turn off my brain, listen to podcasts, and kill thousands of weirdo monsters? Yep, that’s definitely in there. Or maybe I’m looking for an engaging story with memorable charac– well, okay. Maybe not ANYTHING. Still, the action/RPG is a satisfying, rewarding experience that’s provided me hundreds of hours of entertainment. If you’ve been curious about the game, the recent start of the new Heist league makes it a perfect time to check it out. Don’t worry – if you don’t know what that means, I’ll walk you through the basics.

What Is Path Of Exile?

First, let’s go through the big-picture stuff. Path of Exile is an action/RPG from Grinding Gear Games. It’s deeper than something like Diablo III, but it features the same kind of “running around all over the place, casting magic whatevers or bonking monsters on the head with melee weapon” stuff that makes the genre so enjoyable. Better still, it’s free to play, in a generous way. The bulk of the available microtransactions are purely cosmetic. You can definitely drop some bucks on quality-of-life improvements, such as additional storage tabs or inventory slots that automatically sort loot, but you can get by without spending anything.

What’s A League (And Why Should I Care?)

About four times a year, the developers release a new league. These are themed to some kind of gameplay gimmick that adds new systems, drops, and gameplay loops. In the past, leagues have added things like monster-collecting, farming, and mining. When a league is over, some of its features may stick around in the next league. Others are gone forever. It creates a really interesting structure to the game that almost feels like a bunch of weirdly disparate elements that are bolted on top of what came before. It shouldn’t work. Sometimes it doesn’t; the start of a new league is dependably unstable, at least on console, and I crash out of the game about once an hour for the first few weeks. And yet, I keep signing back in for more.

What’s This New League About?

Anyway, the new league, Heist, just went live on console this week. It’s been out a little longer on PC. The gimmick for Heist is that you can work with a team of thieves to plan and commit a variety of randomized heists, Oceans 11-style. You worm your way through the target location, killing guards before their alert level gets too high, find the prize item, and escape with the loot (and your life). I’ve only done one so far, but it was more fun than I expected. Once I grabbed the item – a vase in the tutorial mission – the alarm was triggered and I had to fight through crowds of reinforcements. I’ll definitely be doing a lot more of those in the coming months.

What If I Get Stuck? (Seriously, That Skill Tree!)

Aside from getting fresh content on a regular basis, something I really appreciate about Path of Exile is its active community. If you have a question, odds are that someone has made a multi-episode video series with all the answers. There are an abundance of builds out there from smart, obsessed fans who spend a ton of time min-maxing. I usually spend a day or so watching YouTube videos of various builds before committing to one; this season, I’m going with a necromancer (again), because I am lazy. I know that the skill tree can be overwhelming, but a free tool called Path of Building makes it a lot easier to try out various things before committing your skill points. Or, better still, most of the people who make builds do so in a format that’s easy for Path of Building to import – from there, you can turn off your brain, kill monsters, and just put the points wherever the build creator says. Easy! Now you just need to carve out a few dozen hours…

Path of Exile is available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. And it's great.

Path of Exile: Heist

In Path of Exile: Heist, you will hire skilled thieves to help you pull off risky Heists. Steal valuable artifacts to fund and train your crew as you plan towards the execution of a Grand Heist.

Our September expansion contains the Heist challenge league, nine new Skills and Support Gems, revamps of Curses, Steel Skills, and some Spells. Grand Heists offer exclusive new rewards such as Weapon and Body Armour Enchantments, Heist Trinkets, Alternate-quality Gems and Replica Unique Items.

Uncover The Rogue Harbour

Buy your passage to the Rogue Harbour where you'll consort with a crew of thieves who offer nefarious services. Thirteen Rogues can be contracted to assist you with setting up or executing a Heist by filling roles such as transportation, lockpicking or demolition.

Hire a Specialist

In order to execute a Heist, you need to know the location of a valuable Artifact and what defences safeguard it. Contracts containing these clues can be found throughout Wraeclast alongside coins with the mysterious emblem of the Rogue Harbour. Travel there and turn in these objects to hire the expertise you need for your Heist.

Execute the Heist

If you can't escape the Heist, you'll lose everything you stole while infiltrating the facility. You'll need to support your Rogue while they bypass security in order to reach the vault. Be careful with how much commotion you cause, or you may trigger the alarm, causing the facility to be locked down. When this happens, it's time to run.

Equip Your Crew

Specialised items can be equipped to Rogues to make them stealthier, deadlier, and more adept at their roles. Like any other Path of Exile items, Rogue equipment can be crafted with currency items. A well-equipped crew is a great asset when undertaking the most difficult Heists.

Plan a Grand Heist

The ultimate goal of a thief is to pull off a Grand Heist. This requires access to Blueprints that show where the vaults are located inside sprawling facilities. These elaborate jobs require masterful planning, purchasing additional intel about the facility, and hiring multiple Rogues to assist with their many obstacles. This planning can result in a huge pay-off as each vault has its own exclusive rewards.

Thieves&#; Trinkets

One of the exclusive rewards you'll be able to steal from Grand Heists are Trinkets, which go in their own new equipment slot. These magical items influence what rewards you'll find from future Heists you run. Some of their modifiers affect the items dropped by enemies and chests, while others modify the rewards you could obtain from a Heist's special reward chests.

Alternate Quality Gems

Alternate Quality Gems come from Grand Heist reward rooms and provide even more depth for existing Skill and Support Gems. Each existing Path of Exile gem has up to three Alternate Quality versions which grant different quality bonuses than the original gems. Some simply increase the power of the gem while others entirely change which builds most benefit from the gem.

Replica Uniques and Experimented Base Types

Other rewards you can claim from Grand Heists are Replica Unique Items and Experimented Base Types. Replica Unique items result from attempts to re-create unique items of legend, where the end product has a few crucial differences. They're often appropriate for entirely different character builds than the original item. Experimented Base Types are a variety of new item base types that have exotic properties that differ from their core-game counterparts.

Weapon and Body Armour Enchantments

The final type of new reward available from Grand Heists is a selection of Weapon and Body Armour enchantments. These enchantments come on unnaturally-powerful rare items and affect the magnitude of modifiers on those items. Some of these enchantments are so powerful that they involve substantial drawbacks.

Oppressive Curses

We've added a new Curse-related skill and a new Curse support gem. The new Doom mechanic causes a self-cast Curse to increase in intensity over time until it expires. This works well in conjunction with the Impending Doom support, which causes an explosion of chaos damage when a linked curse ends. Curses have also received a new look.

Sharpened Steel Skills

We've revamped Steel Skills by introducing Shards, deadly blades fragments that hover near your character. The Call of Steel Skill is available whenever you have a Steel skill equipped. It bursts Shards from the ground, providing more ammunition for Steel projectiles, and causes existing Shards to explode out of impaled enemies. We've also added one new Steel Skill and reworked both Shattering and Lancing Steel.

Powerful Spells

Alongside the introduction of six new spells, we've reworked Discharge and Glacial Cascade. A goal with these new spells is that while they are powerful in a variety of character builds, they have additional benefits when self-cast.

And Much, Much More

Path of Exile: Heist also introduces over 25 new Unique Items, 12 new Divination Cards, a visual revamp to some skill effects and much more.

Path of Exile on macOS

We're releasing Path of Exile for macOS alongside the Heist expansion! This version of Path of Exile is fully integrated into the main worldwide PC realm so you can access your existing accounts and microtransactions.

Heist Supporter Packs

We're also launching two sets of Supporter Packs alongside Heist - the Spellblade and Eagle Packs. There are two price points available for each and they feature masses of points, several exclusive microtransactions and a new type of character effect that charges up as you slay monsters.

Path of Exile: Heist will launch on September 18 (PDT) on PC, and September 23 on Xbox One and PlayStation 4.

Introduction

This Heist league guide aims to teach you how to pull off the perfect heist, make the most out of your hard-earned currency, level up your Rogue companions efficiently and understand the whole concept of the challenge league in general. We will make sure to update the guide as much as possible, to keep it up-to-date throughout the league&#;s lifetime.

While this page goes over most things about the Heist mechanics, we recommending checking out the dedicated Reward page of this guide for a full list of rewards.

The Heist League Mechanic

In Path of Exile: Heist (), Grinding Gear Games is giving players the opportunity to live out their Ocean&#;s 11 dreams and pull off daring heists with a group of specialists, to bypass even the hardest and most ingenious of security systems.

Heist League also introduces a slew of entirely new items to play with, such as &#;Replica&#; unique items, alternative quality skill-gems, new item bases, as well as introducing the possibility for weapon and armour enchantments. Lastly, Heist also introduces a never-before-seen system of risk/reward in Path of Exile, with the introduction of the &#;Contraband Item&#; mechanic.

The league mechanic itself features no timers, so you can spend as much time as you want to get into or out of a heist. The only way to fail a heist is to die.

There is, however, one caveat to this rule. Each heist features an Alert Meter, which will limit the amount of options you have in each heist, as once it fills up %, the location will go on &#;Lockdown&#;, essentially disabling your access to the vault and artifact rooms. Once triggered, there is no way to go back, however you do have a very small window to pick up any nearby loot or artifacts, before the lockdown is in effect.

Test2

The Alert Level is affected by killing guards (as of writing this post, but might be removed in an update in the near-future), opening reward chests, opening side passages and some Rogues when performing their specialised skills. Killing enemies has a small effect on the alert level, while opening side passages and chests can result in larger increases. GGG has intentionally designed the league so that you can still kill a lot of monsters and earn a lot of items without worrying about this Alert Level mechanic too much. This means that the main thing you&#;ll need to consider is how much loot you&#;ll want to gather before you reach the Artifact.

During your time venturing through the bowels of Wraeclast, you will inevitably encounter other parts of the new league mechanic as well, by way of specific drops which are able to be acquired from regular monsters throughout the entire game, including the Labyrinth and even Delve!

These specific items come in three distinct forms.

Heist Markers

Test

These markers are a new type of currency, which represent the back-bone of the league mechanic. They are used to create a portal to the &#;Rogue Harbour&#; (the new main-hub for the league mechanic specific NPCs), hire specialists to assist you on your heists and acquire Intel for the planned heists or grand-heists. They can also be used to buy contracts, similarly to Zana&#;s Map Shop, in the Rogue Harbour itself.

You are also paid for the artifacts that you&#; &#;obtain&#;, during your contracts and blueprints in heist markers when you return them to the Rogue Harbour. One thing of note is that you ALWAYS get more heist markers from a successfully pulled off heist, than you can spend on the heist itself, meaning that you will always come out net-positive at the end of a successful one.

Their main usage is to unlock wings and intelligence for the &#;Grand-Heist&#; encounters. Those cost a very high amount of Heist Markers, so make sure to save up a ton of them beforehand or incrementally unlock the blueprints, instead of doing them all at once. One additional note here,

Contracts

Contracts Image

Contracts (read: Heists) are map-like items that require a certain amount of Specialist (read: Rogue Companions) stats to fully explore. They will be the major piece of content that players will interact with in this league. Similarly to maps, they will come with different attributes as shown above. They have varying layouts, iLvLs, skill requirements, targets and, of course, contract-specific mods.

Many of the mods that are applied to a contract, via the typical map crafting using the standard Path of Exile currencies, such as chaos orbs, will be very familiar to every player that has accessed the end-game mapping system before. However, some new, exclusive, modifiers have also been added to the contract-specific pool that can be rolled on each contract.

One such modifier would, for example, be: &#;Patrolling Monsters deal X% increased damage&#;.

At the moment they seem to drop very frequently in maps of any tier. At white-tier, you will get an average of around contracts per map.

To run a Contract, you&#;ll need to take it to Adiyah, the Wayfinder in the Rogue Harbour. You&#;ll pay her a sum of markers to arrange the Heist, allowing you to select which specialised Rogue you&#;d like to take with you and handle transportation.

Blueprints

Blueprints Picture

Blueprints are the big, end-game reward system for this league. They represent the Grand-Heists, which will require a larger crew of Specialists, more highly skilled ones, as well as a lot more preparation and time investment in general.

To run a Grand Heist, you need to pay Whakano, the Barber in markers for the intel he&#;s received from your earlier Heists. This intel can reveal escape routes, reward rooms and more. Alternatively, you can also choose either Gianna, the Master of Disguise or Niles, the Interrogator, in order to reveal intel about your Blueprints, if you&#;ve unlocked them already.

These two offer you a discount on all the intel they provide, depending on their main ability level. They should be used primarily to unlock the very expensive parts of the Blueprints, such as each Wing, or the Secret Rooms, while Whakano, the Barber should be used to unlock the cheaper intel, such as minor Secret Rooms or additional Escape Routes.

One quick tip: You can hold left ALT while hovering over your Blueprint in order to see what Secret Rooms can possibly exist on the Blueprint, even if they aren&#;t revealed yet. This can help you make a decision whether you want to reveal an additional Wing or not, if you aren&#;t very interested in the Curio rewards, but also see that the Secret Rooms have some poor rewards as well.

Reveal as much as you desire (or as much as you can afford) and then take the Blueprint to the Planning Room in the Rogue Harbour, where Kurai, the Administrator will help you arrange which NPCs you&#;d like to take with you and confirm the Blueprint. At this point, you can either trade the Blueprint to another player if you&#;d like, or take it to Adiyah, the Wayfinder to arrange transportation and begin the Grand Heist.

There are also some gameplay differences between Contracts and Blueprints but the main difference is that Contracts (read: Heists) lay the groundwork for Grand Heists (read: Blueprints) and yield Markers and other regular Path of Exile items as rewards, while Grand Heists yield exclusive rewards. These can include Trinkets, Alternate Quality Gems, Rare Body Armour and Weapons with enchantments, Experimented Base Types and Replica Unique items.

Be aware that Grand-Heists, due to them granting exclusive rewards, do not offer Artifacts at the end of their individual wings. This results in them being a major Heist Marker sink, as you will regain essentially no markers whatsoever, except for the stacks of 30 or so that drop on some unique mobs that get killed during the heist.

Note that you may also skip the &#;revealing&#; process entirely for Blueprints and jump right to locking in which NPCs you&#;ll take, but you&#;ll miss out on a lot of the value of the Blueprint in doing so. You can unlock as much as you want or can afford. The more you unlock, the more you&#;ll reap from your Grand Heist. It is thus, highly advised to always fully reveal your blueprints for the maximum reward per blueprint.

Revealed Blueprints also indicate which rewards are available from Curio Displays (the final reward of each Heist) but you won&#;t be able to tell what rewards are in chests, lockers and side-rooms along the way.

As a result, if you are specifically searching for one of the items exclusive to grand-heists, it might be possible to simply unveil the Curio Displays to farm for them, rather than needing to unveil the entire Blueprint each time.

You&#;ll have access to one Contract per area on average but the amount you get is affected by standard drop multipliers. You can get many per area in well-rolled maps. You can access a Blueprint for a Grand Heist approximately once per act or around every 12 maps.

Specialists (aka. Rogue Companions)

Rogues

Every heist-boss requires a crew and it&#;s no different for our Exiles from Wraeclast. Inside the Rogue Harbour, you are able to acquire the services of 13 different rogue companions (for the right price&#; of course), with a total of 9 different fields of expertise.

To unlock them all, simply run all the contracts you can find! Bringing your Rogues on any mission has a random chance for them to bring a friend along, permanentely unlocking that friend as a new hirable Rogue in your Crew. Once a crew member has been unlocked, you are also able to get their respective special quest contract dropped in your maps or acts, in order to unlock the heist story fully and finish up your challenges!

Each Rogue has one main skill and up to three alternate skills. Their main skill is their specialty and has a higher experience cap than their secondary skills. Some Rogues share their skills however, so you will be able to mix/match your perfect squad to your hearts desire.

The Rogues level up their skills as you bring them on heists, depending on which skills they had to use during said heist. In a normal heist (read: contracts), you are only be able to bring one rogue companion with you, while grand-heists allow up to three rogues per wing. Additionally, there are specific &#;Quest&#; contracts, for each Rogue Companion, that give a really high amount of experience on completion for their main ability, making it easy to &#;catch-up&#; one character if they have fallen behind. These are random drops that seem to be obtainable from Rogue&#;s Stashes, which randomly spawn with a low chance in maps, exclusively.

While reading all of this, you might think to yourself &#;Oh god, not another Escort Quest&#;&#;. But, fret not. Inside of Heists and Grand Heists, Rogues are entirely impervious to damage and they cannot be killed. This is specifically not meant as an escort mission, but rather a fun heist experience. You do, however, have to protect them while they perform their task, as nobody can really pick the lock of a vault, while getting fireballs thrown at them&#;

As a reward for your heists, you will also sometimes acquire rogue-specific equipment, which will allow you to further specialise your Rogues for the heists to come.
Equip

As the League Mechanic is in a state of extreme flux at the moment of writing, I will not be providing a rundown on the best equipment for each Rogue and the best mods for them yet, as it&#;s unclear what mechanics even survive the re-balancing of this league. This will, however, be added at a later date, once the league mechanic has stabilised a bit and GGG is happy with its state in the game.

Rewards and Contraband

What would a heist be without an adequate reward for all your troubles?

Heist league features an absolute ton of different rewards and new toys to experience Path of Exile with.
Before we get into all of these however, we have to talk about Contraband.

During your Heists (either Contracts OR Blueprints), you acquire items with a lock icon on it and a red text that reads &#;Contraband&#;.
Contraband

Every single item, currency and drop that appears in the Heists, has this contraband marking.

If you die during a heist, you will LOSEEVERYSINGLECONTRABANDITEM IN YOURINVENTORY, essentially deleting them, unless you are playing in a party, in which case they&#;ll be dropped on the floor at the location of your death, meaning that your friends can still bring out the most valuable contraband you&#;ve collected. If you&#;ve been paying attention to what was just said, you will realize that the risk/reward system in this league is EXTREMELY punishing, if you fail.

If you acquire an exalted orb inside of a Heist, but you die before being able to extract&#; you lose it. If you acquire a coveted unique item inside of a Heist, but you die before being able to extract&#; you lost it.

As a result, you have to make educated decisions on whether a particular item that dropped is valuable enough to rush to the artifact and back to the exit or if it&#;s alright to continue and risk losing it all.

Once you&#;ve successfully extracted with contraband-marked items, they lose their contraband status permanently, making it possible to take them back into other Heists or trade them to other players without running the risk of losing them.

To check out our entire rundown of the reward types, specifics, tips for acquiring them and more, please refer to the Heist Reward sub-page of this guide.

General Tips & Tricks

  • When you&#;re first starting off with the Heist mechanic, you will likely be encountering a lot of unknowns and confusion. Take your time and learn the enemies and their attacks. There is no direct timer on the Heist mechanic, so there&#;s nothing forcing you to rush through the content as fast as possible and potentially getting yourself killed.
  • If you&#;re playing a summoner, it is advised to socket a Meat Shield Support Meat Shield Support, to prevent your minions from wandering TOO far and causing yourself to get too much of an Alarm Meter increase due to their killing sprees.
  • Always aim to unlock all the doors first, especially the ones leading to the Artifact room. This will allow you to play a bit more fast and loose, when it comes to the Alert Meter, as you simply need to pick up the Artifact as long as the &#;lockout timer&#; is still running, in order to succeed.
  • Don&#;t underestimate the value of the small chests. While they&#;re random in what they provide, they&#;re often times a superior choice to a LOT of other chest types you will find in the secret reward rooms (the rooms requiring your Rogue to open for you).
  • Save up your Heist Markers for Grand Heists as much as possible, before you commit to one. This is especially true while you&#;re progressing your atlas simultaneously, as you will want to run the highest level Grand-Heist you have access to, if you&#;re already spending 5,+ hard earned markers.

Conclusion

The Heist league mechanic seems to bring a breath of fresh air to a large portion of the game, with alternative versions of fan-favorite Uniques and skill gems, an intriguing storyline to explore, as well as an entirely new system of risk/reward with the Contraband items, which we have never been able to experience in Path of Exile before: a slight taste of the &#;hardcore&#; playstyle for everyone.

With the new skills gems, the reworked Steel and Curse (now: hex) skills all appearing to be quite potent as well, GGG has once again opened the gates for a vast amount of excitement and fun over the coming next 3 months.

Heist league has launched to a mostly positive reception by the Playerbase, on September 18th for PC and September 23rd for Consoles.

Jak działa HEIST? (Mechanika i podstawy) Poradnik ◼ Path of Exile (3.12)

Quick Guide: This article has a quick guide that shows you how to perform a complete Heist Contract.

Heists are a single-player or multi-player mechanic introduced in the Heist league and can be performed using a Contract at The Rogue Harbour. The player must infiltrate the facility without raising alert, retrieve the guarded item, and escape with the contents alive.

The target item will always be a single artifact that players may exchange with Faustus for Rogue's MarkersStack Size: Creates a portal to the Rogue Harbour from a Town or Hideout
Used as Currency for services in the Rogue HarbourRight click on this item while in a Town or Hideout to use it.
Shift click to unstack., therefore Heist Contracts are an excellent means to generate Rogue's Markers.

Grand Heists are larger more complex versions of Heists, and contain multiple wings and use multiple Rogues.

Mechanics

Tip: If players get Exalted Orbs or any items worth a lot of currency, they may simply exit the heist location using the escape hatch, and then they may re-enter the location using the gate/pipe/trapdoor/door and resume looting. This removes the Contraband status on all items in the players inventory, so that even if they die the items are not lost.

Regular Heists are performed using Contracts. A contract can always be performed with a single Rogue, and requires a certain level of a certain job (eg. Lockpicking Level 5).

Preparation

To start a Heist, the player must take a Heist Contract to Adiyah, the Wayfinder. Before you can start the Heist, you must pay a fee of Rogue's MarkersStack Size: Creates a portal to the Rogue Harbour from a Town or Hideout
Used as Currency for services in the Rogue HarbourRight click on this item while in a Town or Hideout to use it.
Shift click to unstack.. The fee includes the Travel Fee, your Rogue's Hiring Fee(s), and the Ring's Cut. Once it's paid, she will open a portal to the Heist location.

Infiltration

Initially, only a few enemies will be on guard. There will also be patrols of enemy packs or a unique enemy roaming the area. The area contains small chests that contain items, as well as bigger guarded chests that contain items of specific reward types. Opening chests will raise the alert level, the amount which can be displayed by hovering over them.

All items picked up during the Heist are marked as Contraband. Contraband items cannot be used, equipped, or identified and are dropped on death. They will be unmarked as Contraband as soon as you reach the escape point.

While you can't open portals during the Heist or Grand Heist, you may freely leave and re-enter the Heist portal before the alert is raised. note you must enter the heist instance itself, not just the portal room, before you can leave without closing the portal.

The area will contain blocked paths, obstacles, and locked chests that will require your Rogue to clear away or open. Clicking the button above the item will command your Rogue to open/unlock it. Some tasks will require some time for them to perform, indicated by a progress meter. If they are damaged while performing the task, the progress meter will decrease.

Imminent Lockdown

When the Alert meter is maxed, it will start a counter before Lockdown. Once this happens, the player will have limited time to retrieve the target item before it is sealed away. The default time before lockdown is 22 seconds.

When this phase or Lockdown occurs, some doors and obstacles previously open will be locked or rearmed, requiring your Rogue to remove it.

Opening chests during this phase will decrease the lockdown timer by 3 seconds.

Lockdown

Once the target item is taken or the Lockdown timer runs out, Lockdown begins. More enemies will spawn in the area and try to prevent your escape.

Any unopened chests will be locked during Lockdown. However, Tibbs and Niles's perks will allow you to open one small/medium chest during Lockdown.

Once you reach the escape route, the Heist is successfully completed. All Contraband items will be unmarked and your Rogue(s) will gain experience towards the Contract's job. The target item can be sold to Faustus, the Fence for Rogue's Markers. Rogues do not gain experience if the Contract was failed (didn't retrieve the target item).

Portal

Players may leave and re-enter Adiyah's portal multiple times in order to stash items.

The portal is only closed if players die during the "lockdown" mode. Even if players disconnect (logout) and login, they may return to the Rogue's Harbour and the portal will remain active, provided the location was not in "lockdown".

Death

If players die before lockdown has begun, all items marked with Contraband are dropped to the ground but Adiyah's portal remains up. Players may then return back to the location and pick up the loot and therefore nothing is lost.

If players die during lockdown, all items marked with Contraband are dropped to the ground. If there are other players in the same party, they may pick up the drops, but if the player is going solo then the loot is lost permanently. Adiyah's portal will also be closed.

Experience

Players gain combat experience while killing guards at the heist location, but Rogues level up only at the end of each successful heist.

Upon successfully stealing the target artifact, and escaping via the escape hatch, the assigned Rogue will gain experience in the skill that was used. At certain thresholds, Rogues will level up until they reach the maximum level that they are capable of. See the Rogues table below for details on the jobs Rogues can perform and the maximum level that each of them can attain.

If the location entered into "lockdown" mode and players did not steal the target artifact, the contract is marked as "failed" and the assigned Rogue will not gain any experience. This prevents the Rogue from leveling up.

Rogues

Players may hire various rogues to assist them in heists and grand heists. Players may select which rogue performs which job and they will accordingly appear in the heist.

Each rogue has a specific set of perks that improve drops, allow players to open more reward chests (alert level reduction), or simply assist in combat.

Locations

There are 4 different kinds of monsters that appear across the heist locations. The location is mentioned in the name of the heist contract, eg.Contract: TunnelsGive this Contract to Adiyah in the Rogue Harbour to embark on the Heist. indicates that the heist will take place in the Tunnels location.

Rewards

Rewards are obtained directly by opening chests in heists and grand heists. This is possible in both Heist Contracts and Grand Heist Blueprints.

In this Path of exile Heist league guide, I’ll be providing you with some very helpful tips that will get you off to a good start in Path of Exile&#;s newest league Heist. Heist is one of the complex leagues to begin with, and involves a lot of decision making, that&#;s very different from core game and older leagues. Although Heist spends a good time introducing you to all the new characters and their backstory, the league mechanics itself can be tricky to master. Learning the new mechanics can take some serious trial and error, and to save you some of the hassle, I&#;m going to give you these tips I&#;ve learned so far in the league.

Path of Exile Heist Getting Started Tips: Things I Wish I Knew Before I Played

Path of Exile: Heist as a league is most isolated content from main game in entire Path of exile history, by many levels. First of all you neither get an NPC in your Hideout, nor use Campaign Towns for any Heist related activity. Instead, you get an entire new Town for solely all the Heist activities. And then, you don&#;t get any Heist content to interact with during your Campaign or normal Mapping. So you don&#;t need to stop what you are doing in the middle of maps, to do some Heist. But rather, you need to deliberately teleport to the new Rogue Harbour by using Rogue Marker to start interacting with anything related to Heists. It is a lot of dedication but if you do so, you will be presented with a gorgeous Town, with lots of stuff to do. So let&#;s get started with all various things that can improve your experience with Heist!

Rogue Skill Sets & Contract Types

Before running Heists, it&#;s good to know what type of contract you are doing, whom you need to run it, and what rewards you can expect. So let&#;s start with these first.

Rogues

There are nine types of contracts, they are tied directly to the nine skill sets of the Rogues you can hire. Each Rogue have anywhere from two to four skills, and a Rogue can level each of his or her skill by successfully doing a Heist with the proper skill requirement. So, early in the league, some contracts will be inaccessible, until you find and hire the Rogue with the proper Skill set.

You get to start with only three NPCs, Isla, the Engineer, Karst, the Lockpick, and Tibbs, the Giant. With only seven out of nine Skills: Engineering, Trap Disarmament, Lockpicking, Perception, Agility, Brute Force, and Demolition. With other two skills: Counter-Thaumaturgy, and Deception being inaccessible until you meet one of the Rogues with them.

Contract Tiers

On top of that, Contracts have a Tier requirement in related skill, for example having Huck, the Soldier with four skills doesn&#;t mean instant access to all contracts. But you do need to level him in each skill that you might need him to use. Once you&#;re in Maps, you will start to realise, to find the majority of contracts, it will require higher tiers of certain skills, so best to plan ahead.

The simple way to level up your Rogues is to do low level contracts, not long after you receive them. Do them in bulk, so finish Act one and Two of campaign, then do couple contracts you got. These low level Heist contracts always have low Tier requirement, and help leveling your Rogues before you get to Maps.

Once in Maps, you can buy level 68 contracts from Wahakano at Rogue Harbour. Usually, they require Tier one, and can be performed with any Rogue with the skill. If you find a contract that have no matching skill of same tier, you should go check Wahakano for a contract with the right skill. You can search his shop for the skill type you want, to quickly find the right one.

Reward Rooms

Additionally, chests in the reward rooms in Heists are tied to the skill set that opens it. For example, you may only get Currency rewards in Heists that require Lockpicking skill. And for Jewellry rewards, you need to wait until you meet Nenet, the Scout, or Niles for Counter-Thaumaturgy skill.

Some skills have limited reward choices, so running the related contract almost guarantee the reward you desire to find. For instance, contracts with Deception skill requirement, will always give Armour loot in reward rooms. While contracts with Demolition requirement, will have four possible types of reward rooms. That&#;s important to keep in mind, as this will help you make an informed decision about what contracts to run.

If you have limited chance to loot reward rooms before triggering the alarm, you can run the less rewarding contracts, and focus on getting the final Artifact. On the other hand, it&#;s wise to save valuable contracts to run with &#;reduced raising the alarm&#; modifiers, to get as many reward rooms. Especially Demolition contracts, because they usually turn to be the most rewarding among them all.

Here&#;s a full list of Skills, NPC Rogues who can perform them, and relative reward rooms they come with.

As a general advice, it&#;s safe to run Demolition in trade leagues, because Blight and Catalyst rewards can give you steady income. Delirium &#;Cluster jewels&#; also have the potential to be crafted into great pieces. Trap Disarmament contracts is another good choice, but have less desirable rewards like Talisman and Abyss. And if you play SSF or Private league with limited trade, Engineering rooms will be perfect place to farm Unique items you need for your build.

Rogue Equipment

You can give equipment to all nine Rogues in Rogue Harbour, these type of equipment drop solely from monsters in Heists. There are four Slots for each Rogue, with three slots being general gear that requires certain Tier requirement in any skill. Gear in these three slots can be swapped between Rogues easily, before and after performing Heist contracts.

In early game, or Solo Self Found (SSF) league with limited access to Rogue Gear, you can still go with every Rogue equipped with some items at least. The last slot in the middle is specialty slot, and require certain Tier in certain skill. So you can only equip on certain Rogues and not the others, and usually this slot gives useful stats to the exact Rogue skill.

Demolition gear can only be equipped by Huck, Tibbs, or Vinderi

Demolition gear can only be equipped by Huck, Tibbs, or Vinderi

Rogue Equipment Stats

These items work like your own gear, you can craft them using same currency items. They may drop as white items, and you can turn them magic or rare. If you have currency to spend, keep rolling until you get stats you are happy with. Rogue equipment come with various Implicits, such as Steel Drill (for an engineering bonus), or Torn cloak (for reducing alarm raising). In addition to Implicit modifiers, they will roll several mods, which comes in two categories, Combat Modifiers and Heist Modifiers.

Combat Modifiers

Combat modifiers come with items placed in weapon slots, the left slot of Rogue Inventory. What these modifiers do is provide a buff on your Rogue, or all allies including yourself, and your minions. So using basic Arrowhead in weapon slot will allow an increase in Projectile attack damage of the Rogue by default, and can also give players and their minions some &#;Attack&#; related stats. The Conduit Line on the other hand, will always grant spell related stats such as &#;Spell Damage&#;, &#;added fire damage&#; , or &#;added damage to player and minions.

You can see the pattern here, if you are a spellcaster, you probably want to craft good Conduit Line for your Rogues with some added stats that benefit yourself. The same goes for other types of builds.

Heist Modifiers

Things like increasing job speed, reduce travel fee, or increase time before lockdown are possible stats on other items. If you want to get maximum loot from a Heist, you should aim to get &#;reduced raising alarm&#; stats as many times as you can on Rogue equipment, which gives a chance to loot more chests. Or you can get straight to &#;additional chance to duplicate contained loot&#;, which is RNG based, but can be extremely rewarding.

I highly encourage you to experiment with Rogue equipment, and mix and match their stats with the different Rogues. And always go with your Rogues fully equipped, to improve your odds in success.

Heist General Strategy

The depth of Heist league system allows players great control over the engagement level with the whole thing. There&#;s no single correct strategy to play Heist, it all depend son you, your goals, and what you want to achieve with heist runs. There are several approaches to Heists, and they all share some similarities, while having distinct goals. I&#;ll discuss some of them briefly, to help players set their goals and expectations. But please note, these are not the sole strategies, and not the only ways to play the new league.

The Casual Approach

Casual is suited for players without much time on their hands for Path of Exile. Those who probably play on weekends, and some scattered hours within the week. They don&#;t aim to reach level , and might not play many characters or builds during the three months period of Heist.

I recommend for these players to focus on progressing their Atlas, getting their Conquerors kills, and Awakener levels. Also prioritize doing Delve content, because casual playing will not yield as many contracts as extensive farming of fully juiced maps. Delve makes up for this, and grants great number of Markers and contracts, that will be ready for them when they decide to do their Heisting.

Heist Runs

When casual players decided to do Heists, they want to have fun more than they aim for maximum efficiency. So it&#;s advised to run low level Heists, and probably as low as ten levels below their character level, which is safer and less likely to end up with a failure. Death in Heist after the alarm have triggered for casual player means all their time investment gone to waste, and they have limited time in first place. If they have ran out of low level contracts to run, they can buy more from Wahakano in Rogue Harbour. Wahakano will take a small fee which is Orb of Chance, so it&#;s good to save this currency for buying contracts, and not waste it anywhere else.

In Heists, especially in early levels, they want to prioritize Lockpicking contracts, as these will give straight up currency. Casual players might not be so devoted to crafting, and have less time for extensive trading, so Currency rewards will be safe for them, to buy their next gear upgrade. This way the Heist complement their progress in main game, and not hinder it.

If Casual players wants to perform grand Heists, they better not waste their markers on revealing the Blueprints. They might prefer using Orb of Alchemy and go, saving their reveals for very endgame grand Heists which will be more rewarding.

Low Tier Map Farming & Chaining Grand Heists

Another safe strategy for approaching Heists involves spending more time in game and Heists. Instead of trying to rush for the highest Awakener level, and taking on tougher enemies, players prefer clear speed above all else. So they run low levels maps where they can clear extremely fast, one-shotting entire packs, and even rarer monsters, and never look back. It&#;s a playstyle complemented with good mapping build, and huge movement speed.

Running so many maps in a shorter length of time will allow both markers and contracts to accumulate, so the character will be ready to perform several Heists by the end of the day.

These farmers will focus on successfully escaping Heist instance with the required Artifact, so they will not prioritize reward rooms, and seek to reach end of Heist instance as quick as possible, and run to escape route with even faster speed. The only reward room they will care about is the final reward room, near the Artifact room, so they don&#;t worry much about raising alert micro-management. they will get their true rewards from Grand Heists.

Players should vary their Heist contracts among all types, and accompany different Rogue each time, to level most of them simultaneously. Changing Rogues for different contracts will help quickly unlocking other rogues and skills. Grand heists require several skills and Rogues at same time, and having the right combination will yield more rewards.

Grand Heists

If a player doesn&#;t get enough Blueprints from running maps and normal Heists, they can supplement them by buying from other players. You will also need to be smart about getting your choice of Grand Heist type, as to run low level Grand Heists will require a type of reward that&#;s level proof. So things such as enchanted Weapon/Armour, and experimental bases are a poor choice, because these only sell to crafters who seek the highest item level to get best results. That leave farmers with the choice of Replica Uniques, and Alternative Guality Gems. Also Heist Trinkets to an extent, as these will be appealing to a wider player base.

A professional tip is to enable &#;Advanced mod description&#; from the game settings, and press &#;Alt&#; while hovering over Blueprints to see their possible rewards before revealing any room. Although we are more focuses on &#;Heist Target&#; than the reward rooms itself, after getting the desired Blueprint, players want to reveal as many wings as possible. The goal is to reach the end room and get to the main reward as many times as possible, and that&#;s achievable with revealing wings and not reward rooms.

You need to make sure you reach the end room without triggering the alarm, so you have all the time to read each reward text. You should decide carefully which reward you want to pick, because you only get one choice, and one shot at it, there&#;s no room for mistakes. Once out of a wing, you should return to Rogue Harbour to store all items you&#;ve got, and re-enter with empty inventory for another round in another wing.

High End Grand Heist seekers

This strategy is designed for top end builds and players. Its goal is to farm highest level Grand Heists, Equivalent to T15 and T16 Maps, which will be very tough content to challenge. It requires the toughest and the most tanky builds, with great DPS at same time, which typically are meta builds for Hardcore. The strategy involves careful planning of your Atlas, to reach Awakener level 8 as soon as possible, and equipping all your Watchstones to unlock the highest tier maps. In these higher level maps, high level contracts and blueprints will also drop, which will be farmed for the highest level rewards.

Heist runs

The goal for Heist runs for this strategy, is to escape with the Artifacts successfully to get the most markers in exchange, and also get all Map reward rooms, to help you sustain high tier maps. So you will want to run Engineering contracts more than other contracts. Demolition contracts are also more rewarding at the high level Heists, due to the fact that Cluster Jewels from Delirium rewards will be better at high levels, and can roll higher tiers modifiers.

Players aiming for the highest level Heists will often find high Rogue skill requirement on these contracts and blueprints. With some Rogues unable to level past certain level skill, players will need to micro-management their Rogues even more. They need to review each Rogue maximum level in each skill, and use the ones with highest potential  more often, so they level up faster.

If you plan to run high level Engineering contracts for example, you should start doing them with Isla, the Engineer from the start, as her name suggests. Isla is the only Rogue who can reach level 5 in Engineering. Same goes for Venderi in Demolition, or Tullina in Agility. So always keep in mind which Rogue you need to level up the most, and focus on them.

Gianna can't perform a contract, because her skill capped at level 2, and contract is level 3

Gianna can&#;t perform a contract, because her maximum skills stay at level 2, and contract is level 3

High level Grand Heist

When it comes to the choice of which Blueprint you want to run for a Grand Heist, we seek items that scale well with levels. Especially enchanted weapon and Armour, since they also drop with bias towards being a good item. In the end room in grand Heist you will find several items to choose from, and you will most likely find really good one there at high level, which can be used, crafted further, or sold for good currency.

You will need a good supply of Blueprints though, and if you don&#;t have enough, trade for them with other players. Make sure to use the official Path of Exile trade page , choosing item category &#;Heist Blueprint&#; , and set item level to the desired level (Typically +83), and then find the Blueprints with suitable targets, like &#;Enchanted Armament&#;, &#;Thieves&#; Trinkets or Currency&#; or &#;Replicas or Experimented Items&#;

The aim in Grand Heists is to reach the final room without triggering the Alarm, and to stay alive once the alarm trigger. So you need careful movement and layers of defense and ways to avoid damage altogether. Projecting damage through corners is an excellent tactic while escaping, so Totem builds, or Trap and Mine builds can be much safer for this playstyle. Also builds with Phasing (which allows players to go through monsters without collision), and Elusive with huge dodge chance can run through most rooms quickly. Or Champion builds with maximum block chance.

This guide should get you up to speed in starting Path of Exile: Heist, as well as picking the right strategy for you.
