I. For admission to any of the First Degree Programs of BITS except B.Pharm: Candidates should have passed the 12th examination of 10+2 system from a recognized Central or State board or its equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM) and adequate proficiency in English.
II. For admission to B.Pharm.: Candidates should have passed the 12th examination of 10+2 system from a recognized Central or State board or its equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (PCB) and adequate proficiency in English. However, candidates with PCM may also apply for the Pharmacy program.

  • The candidate should have obtained a minimum of aggregate 75% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics subjects (if he/she has taken Mathematics in BITSAT) or a minimum of aggregate 75% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology subjects (if he/she has taken Biology in BITSAT Exam) subjects in 12th examination, with at least 60% marks in each of the Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics / Biology subjects.
  • Candidate should have passed class 12 or equivalent examination in 2020 or in 2021.
  • Candidates already studying at any on the BITS campuses are not eligible to appear for BITSAT 2021.
  • As per the rules of BITS Pilani, the candidates who secure first ranks in the respective board examination of class 12, be it a state board or central board, are not required to appear for BITSAT Exam 2021. Provided that such candidates also comply with the requirements under BITSAT 2021 eligibility criteria as mentioned above.

BITS Pilani invites application from the students who obtained first ranks in their respective Class XII board examinations. The first rank holder of PCM stream will be considered for admission to all integrated courses in BITS Pilani. The candidate who secured first rank (Board topper) in PCM in their respective board can go the official website to apply for direct admission.

The first rank holder of PCB stream will be considered for admission to B. Pharmacy programme at Pilani and Hyderabad campus of BITS Pilani only. The candidate who secured first rank (Board topper) in PCB in their respective board can go to the official website to apply for direct admission.

The BITSAT Exam 2020 exam was conducted from 16th to 18th & 21st to 23rd September, 2020. Each day the exam was conducted in two slots i.e. 9 am to 12 pm and 2 pm to 5 pm. The exam was divided into 4 sections namely: Physics, Chemistry, Math and English Proficiency & Logical Reasoning. There were 45 questions in Math, 40 each in Physics and Chemistry and 10 questions in logical reasoning while 15 in the English Proficiency section. We tried to analyse the examination from the responses of the students who appeared for the exam.
Generally, the candidates who appeared for the BITSAT Exam in all the shifts felt few things common which are:
i. A majority of students found themselves out of time while attempting the question.
ii. The level of difficulty of paper was easier in comparison to JEE MAIN but had more questions to be done in an equal amount of time.
iii. Physics appeared to be the toughest and time consuming for many candidates while chemistry was relatively easier. Mathematics section in some papers were lengthy.
iv. Though less in number, doing the logical reasoning and English Proficiency correct is very important as it becomes a deciding factor when you are close to the cut-off.

A large number of questions are asked from the mechanics and Electricity & Magnetism units of Physics. This weighs to be around 60 % of the total marks of physics. A candidate wishing to crack the BITSAT Exam must ace these topics by practice. Apart from it, an equal weightage is given to Optics, Heat & Thermodynamics, Modern Physics and SHM & Waves in the exam.
In Chemistry, Physical Chemistry holds a little more weight in comparison to organic and inorganic chemistry in the BITSAT exam. Around 45% of the questions are asked from physical chemistry, 35% from organic chemistry and 20% from the inorganic chemistry. The aspirant should focus on NCERT of chemistry to ace in this section of BITSAT Exam. Now looking into the mathematics section, all the topics are asked with equal importance. However, applications of derivative had consistently been asked more in comparison to others followed by Sequence and Series and Circles.
Important topics for English are Sentence Completion, Synonyms & Antonyms, Arrangement of Jumbled Words, One Word Substitution, etc. Important topics for logical Reasoning are Figure Formation and Analysis, Figure Matrix, Analogy Test and Series Test.

Only eligible candidates who score the required minimum marks will be able to participate in admission process. The merit position of eligible candidates is prepared on the basis of BITSAT 2021 scores. 2 separate merit lists will be prepared for admission: All Programs except B.Pharm and Only B.Pharm Program.

In case two candidates have the same score, the following sequence will be considered while preparing the merit list:

  • First their BITSAT 2021 scores obtained in Mathematics/ Biology will be considered.
  • If the tie still exists, then the scores in Physics will be considered.
  • Further the tie will be eliminated using Chemistry scores.
  • If the tie still exists, then their PCM/PCB total scores in Class XII exam will be considered.

BITSAT is being conducted since 2005 and is one of the most competitive engineering entrance exams in India. Three years ago, more than 1.86 lakh engineering aspirants had taken BITSAT 2014, competing for getting one of the 2,250 seats available across BITS campuses in India.

BITS Pilani has 3 campuses in India. Besides the main Pilani Campus, BITS has campuses in Goa and Hyderabad. Apart from these three cities, BITS Pilani is also planning to operate in different cities. Undergraduate programs will be offered in all 3 campuses on the basis of score in BITSAT 2018. Besides, BITS Pilani also offers several postgraduate and other programs.

BITSAT 2018 is an online test. Students are tested in areas of Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Logical Reasoning, and English. BITSAT 2018 Score shall be used for admission in BITS Pilani, BITS Hyderabad, and BITS Goa Campuses. The BITS Pilani calls engineering degree programs for undergraduate students as Integrated First Degree Program.

For appearing in BITSAT 2018 no special computer skills are required. It is the candidate's competitive ability in physics, chemistry, and mathematics which will help them secure a place in BITSAT 2018 Merit. The degrees earned from BITS Pilani are considered equivalent to degrees awarded from any other recognized university or institution.

BITSAT 2018 scores will also be used by the NIIT University for admission to their B.Tech programs.

BITS Pilani is a Deemed University, and it comes under the purview of Ministry of Human Resources Development (MHRD) of Government of India. Integrated First Degree programs offered by BITS Pilani are approved by the University Grants Commission (UGC), All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), and other government bodies. The certificates issued from BITS Pilani are honoured both in India and overseas, for study and work.
