This helps to have more space and a less awkward console. But another exciting feature you can find in this vehicle is the Ford Co-Pilot360™ Technology. This technology provides driver-assist features including the Available Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop-and-Go, which helps you brake during slower traffic, and then helps you get back up to speed. You’ll also have Lance Centering, which means what you may think it does, as it helps you keep your car centered in your lane.

Alongside these two technologies, you’ll have an available Evasive Steering Assist. This can potentially help you to avoid an oncoming crash. Ford is recalling 259,182 additional Fusion sedans in the United States for faulty shifter cables that can cause rollaways, the automaker said Wednesday.

In July, Ford recalled more than a half-million Fusion and Escape models for these shifter cables, which can break off the transmission due to a bad bushing at the connection point. A supplier had added lubricant to these bushings, which ultimately led them to fail on 2013–2016 Fusion and 2013–2014 Escape models, according to a recall filing with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). Several dangerous things can happen, such as the gear selector indicating the wrong gear or a driver switching off the vehicle in park and exiting with the key when the transmission is actually in neutral. Ford said the newly affected Fusions are equipped with the 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine and that it knows of at least one injury and three reports of property damage related to these cars. Previously in July, we found at least 16 Fusion owners and seven Escape owners documenting the issue with NHTSA.

As before, Ford is recommending Fusion owners apply the parking brake at all times when the vehicle is stopped. Dealers have not yet received parts, although the fix will involve replacing the shifter cable. As of April 30, Ford dealers have repaired more than half of the previously recalled Fusion and Escape models, according to NHTSA.

Ford is also recalling the 2019 Ranger for the second time in three months for another transmission problem. Before, 2992 Ranger pickups in the U.S. had faulty shifter interlock assemblies on 10-speed automatic transmissions that let the driver move the shifter from park without the key or stepping on the brake. Now, about 2500 more pickups may have similar defects as the Fusion, with a loose cable that can detach and cause all the aforementioned problems. Dealers will remove and reinstall two fasteners that the factory didn't torque to spec. In April 2018, Ford recalled 350,000 trucks and SUVs with the 10-speed automatic for yet more problems with shifter cables.

Model A

The pics below show some of the differences in Model A passenger car transmission gear shift levers.

There are two styles of shift levers, one for 1928-1929 and one for 1930-1931. Both shifters are nickel plated with a butler finish.

The difference between the two levers is in the angle of the bend.

The pivot ball cap on the lever was originally cadmium plated, or in some cases left unfinished plain steel.

The pic above shows the differences in the angles of the various gear shift levers. The 1928-29 levers have a 15 degree bend, while the 1930-31 levers have a 20 degree bend.

The lever on the top is a 1930-1931 shift lever, which has a bigger angle bend in it to move the gear shift knob down farther away from the dash and cowl (which is lower compared to a 1928-29 Model A).

The three lower levers are all 1928-1929 transmission gear shift levers, and are straighter and more upright compared to the 1930-31 levers.

If a 1928-29 gear shift lever is installed in a 1930-31 car, the gear shift lever knob will be too close to the dash and it will be easier to hit your hand while shifting.

The picture above shows the cap which is pressed on the lever above the pivot ball. The original cadmium plating remains can be seen on the cap on the right.

twitter announced today that it will be removing its implementation of stories dubbed “fleets.” the feature was either loved or hated by twitter users since its initial release last year.

this short-lived feature, which was released in november of last year, will be removed on august 3. twitter acknowledged the controversial nature of the snapchat/instagram clone with the farewell tweet. notably, there was no fleet from the main twitter account announcing the departure of the feature, only a standard tweet.

in the goodbye, the company said it is working on “new stuff.” one can hope that they add the ability to edit tweets, in addition to the new edit audience and monetization features.

in a more detailed blog post, twitter shared that it hoped fleets would make people more comfortable posting onto twitter. as fleets disappear, some of the fleet creation features, like gifs and stickers, will be implemented into the standard tweets composer.
